Charles Smith
3rd Trustee - Navy

I was an operations specialist in the Navy onboard the USS Enterprise CVN-65 and the USS Chandler DDG-996. Onboard the Enterprise I enjoyed watching flight ops as often as possible and visited many Countries on the WESTPAC. Became a Shellback from being a lowly Wog after crossing the equator. The WESTPAC on the Chandler was quite different as we escorted oil tankers in and out of the Persian Gulf.  After returning to the States, I was Honorably Discharged and continued in the Navy Reserves. I transferred to the National Guard to be closer to home and became a Combat Engineer.  I became the NBC NCO for B Company, 579th Battalion out of Eureka, CA.  After a few years I transferred to the 91st Division of theArmy Reserves in Dublin, CA. I was an observer/controller and thoroughly enjoyed the position qualifying in SIMS and other computer generated war games.  I was medically retired in 2001 after 9/11.
